02 Jul Pianist for CARMEN With Waltham Forest Music Service (WFMS) and Maya Sapone in collaboration with The Royal Opera House
I was delighted to be the pianist for WFMS and Maya Sapone’s production/adaptation of the opera Carmen on July 2-3 at The Big Penny Social. This was a stupendous event, featuring ‘The Little Choir of Joy”, The Waltham Forest Youth Orchestra, ‘All the Young Dudes’ Guitar group and a massed choir of 600+ from 17 local primary schools.
It involved me learning most of the orchestral reduction of the opera Carmen, as well as playing several special compositions for a smaller chamber group. In addition, I was the rehearsal pianist for The Little Choir of Joy in the run-up to this production.
