As part of The Walthamstow Art Trail, I am putting on the second complete performance of my song cycle: El Arte De La Pesca ‘The Art of Fishing’, with words by Spanish Writer Luisa Etxenike.
Performed by mezzo-soprano Carola Emrich-Fisher and pianist Lara Dodds-Eden. The performance starts with a presentation.
Set in the Basque country, Spain, the story tells of a grandchild resisting and overcoming a sexually abusive grandfather using creativity.
A song cycle is a set of songs based on thematic poems.
